AT&T invests in Future Leaders: $10,000 contribution to Greenville Tech Foundation supports African American Male Scholars Initiative

The Greenville Tech Foundation announced a substantial investment of $10,000 from AT&T in support of the African American Male Scholars Initiative (AAMSI). This funding will provide crucial resources and inspire hope and confidence in the AAMSI students, fostering a more equitable and inclusive educational environment at Greenville Technical College.

The AAMSI program, established in 2019, was born out of a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by African American male students at Greenville Technical College. By offering individualized support, mentorship, and comprehensive services, AAMSI has made remarkable strides in improving student retention and graduation rates. To date, AAMSI scholars have achieved an impressive persistence rate of over 83%, which far exceeds the rate for their peers who do not participate in the program.
