AT&T Names Terrance Ford as SC Legislative Director

November 5, 2018

Terrance Ford is the new Director of Legislative Affairs for AT&T* in South Carolina.

Ford is a 17-year veteran of AT&T and its predecessor companies. He was previously Regional Director of External Affairs in the Upstate and succeeds Jane Sosebee, who was named president of AT&T South Carolina last month.

“Terrance is the perfect fit for this position,” Sosebee said. “He has a deep technical knowledge of the industry and a vibrant track record of community service that makes him uniquely qualified to help policy makers consider important decisions that will help the State and its citizens reap the benefits of small cells and other technology advancements.”

Ford has extensive experience in AT&T’s network organizations, including directing the installation and maintenance of high-speed broadband and other advanced technologies in the Upstate, prior to joining the external affairs organization.

“Advanced technologies like small cells, 5G, and others that our industry is developing will help drive economic growth and create new jobs,” Ford said. “For many years, South Carolina policymakers have worked hard to make our state a place where businesses locate and invest, and I look forward to helping AT&T do our part to continue that longstanding and productive legacy.”

Ford’s community engagement includes serving as Vice Chairman of the Spartanburg Chamber Government Relations Committee, Vice Chairman of the Urban League of the Upstate Board, member of the executive committee of the Upstate SC Alliance and the Oconee Economic Alliance, member of the advisory committee of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, and board member of Leadership South Carolina, the South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center, the Tri-County Technical College Foundation, and the United Way of Greenville.

A native of the Charleston area, Ford earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees from Webster University. He and his wife, Kylenee, have four children.
