“The Piedmont Technical College Area Commission looks forward to the contributions Metts will make as we continue to meet the needs of our students and the communities we serve,” Area Commission Chairman Dr. Dennis Lambries said. “Her background and experience will be an asset as we face the challenges presented by tomorrow’s workforce.”

Metts earned a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College and a juris doctor (J.D.) from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as a commissioner, and I will lend my professional experience as an attorney to the decision-making process of the commission in carrying out its mission,” Metts said. “A technical education allows individuals to develop invaluable skill sets and excel in promising careers in our community and beyond. I look forward to participating in the future of technical education at PTC.”

The 12-member PTC Area Commission is the governing board for the college and includes members from every county in its service area. Members are recommended by their legislative delegation and appointed by the governor for four-year terms.
