Augusta Road Announces 2011 Holiday Open House and Lights on Augusta

November 9, 2011

Augusta Road Business Association (ARBA) celebrates the holidays with two events this year.  Holiday Open House will take place the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 20th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  The First Annual Lights on Augusta, a Christmas decoration contest, will take place the month of December from December 1st to December 31st.

Augusta Road Business Association organizes Holiday Open House every year the Sunday before Thanksgiving and it has become a tradition for shoppers all over the upstate of SC. On Sunday, November 20th, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. shoppers will begin the Christmas season on Augusta Road. Participating businesses host special events to celebrate the upcoming holidays and promote local shopping on Augusta Road. The City Trolley is available to take shoppers from one destination to another.  Shoppers can get in the holiday spirit with a visit from Santa and his elves, live music, carriage rides, hot cocoa, door prizes, special gift ideas for Christmas and much more.  It is a fun day for all ages!  ARBA kicked off the holidays by working the Kitchen line at Meals on Wheels and each participating business will have a donation box during Holiday Open House.  Also, during this special shopping experience ARBA will hold a canned food drive for Samaritan House with drop off locations at each shopping center.

This year Augusta Road has added Lights on Augusta, a contest for ARBA business members.  Businesses will decorate their business or store front for the month of December and the Augusta Road community will decide who wins by voting online at www.onlyonaugusta.com. Voting will begin on Thursday, December 1st and end on Saturday, December 31st. Lights on Augusta is designed to be a community tradition for Augusta Road neighborhoods, families and loyal customers of businesses on Augusta Road.
