Babcock Center welcomes new President & CEO

The Babcock Center Board of Directors announced the appointment of Mr. Thoyd B. Warren as the new President & CEO of the Babcock Center. Mr. Warren is stepping into the role as current President & CEO, Dr. Judy Johnson retires.

Mr. Warren holds a B.A. in Social Work from Winthrop University and is a licensed social worker in the state of South Carolina. He also holds a certificate in Non-Profit Management from Winthrop University’s College of Business Administration Institute of Management. He has extensive expertise in the field of disabilities with over 24 years of experience. He has served as the Executive Director of both the Sumter and Kershaw County Disabilities and Special Needs Boards and was previously the Director for the KershawHealth Home Health and Hospice.

Mr. Warren is committed to his community and has served on several community boards in Kershaw and Sumter Counties and is a graduate of the 1999 United Way Blueprint for Leadership class. He is currently Vice-Chair of the SC Chapter of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and is Secretary for the Human Service Providers Association. He is also a past member of the Camden and Sumter Palmetto Rotary Clubs. Mr. Warren has been married for 26 years, to the former Kim Taylor, and they have two children, Taylor, 22 and T.J, 14.

The Babcock Center Board of Directors is confident that he will help the organization to continue to achieve our mission to empower people with lifelong disabilities to enjoy life by promoting abilities and respecting choice.
