Bassmaster Team Championship Returns to South Carolina’s Lake Hartwell in December 2025

Upstate anglers, mark your calendars: the prestigious Bassmaster Team Championship is set to return to South Carolina’s renowned Lake Hartwell from December 3 to 6, 2025. This four-day event will showcase the nation’s top grassroots anglers, all vying for the coveted final spot in the 2026 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour.

This marks the championship’s first return to Anderson, South Carolina, since 2022. Lake Hartwell, celebrated for its abundant bass population and scenic beauty, was ranked No. 22 in the Southeastern Division of Bassmaster Magazine’s2024 100 Best Bass Lakes list. The tournament will be hosted at the world-class Green Pond Landing facility, known for accommodating large-scale fishing events.

Neil Paul, Executive Director of Visit Anderson, expressed enthusiasm about the event’s return: “We’re very excited to have the Bassmaster Team Championship back to Green Pond Landing, Lake Hartwell, and Anderson County. The leadership of our county continues to provide us with the resources to host championship events and the continued support to develop our facilities.”

The championship will commence with two days of team competition on December 3 and 4. The leading duo will not only secure a cash prize but also advance to the individual Bassmaster Classic Fish-Off on December 5 and 6. In this phase, the top three teams (six anglers) will compete individually, with weights reset to zero. The angler achieving the highest two-day total will earn the final berth in the 2026 Bassmaster Classic.
