Beat the Heat: Fountain Inn Splash Pad Officially Opens for the 2026 Season
April 10, 2026As spring temperatures begin to climb in the Upstate, local families have a new reason to celebrate. The City of Fountain Inn has officially turned on the valves at the downtown Splash Pad, kicking off the 2026 season just in time for the warming weather.
Located at 104 North Main Street, the splash pad has become a staple for residents looking for a free, fun way to cool off during the spring and summer months.
What You Need to Know Before You Go
The splash pad is designed as an unsupervised, “play at your own risk” facility, making it a popular destination for spontaneous afternoon outings. To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, the city has maintained a consistent set of guidelines for the new season:
-
Hours of Operation: The fountains are active daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
-
Supervision: All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For those under six, the city requires an adult to stay within “arms reach” at all times.
-
Attire: Proper clothing or swimsuits are required for all participants.
-
Safety First: Running and rough play are strictly discouraged to prevent slips on the wet surfaces.
A Community Hub
The splash pad, which originally opened in 2019 through a collaborative fundraising effort by the Leadership Golden Strip (a partnership between the Simpsonville, Mauldin, and Fountain Inn Chambers of Commerce), continues to serve as a bridge between the city’s historic charm and its modern growth.
Following the completion of the splash pad parking lot revitalization project last year, visitors will find improved accessibility and ample space to park while enjoying the downtown area’s shops and restaurants.
More Water Fun in the Upstate
For families looking for a more immersive water park experience, the Greenville County Parks’ 7th Inning Splash at Lakeside Park is also preparing for its 2026 season. While the downtown Fountain Inn splash pad remains free and open daily, 7th Inning Splash offers water slides, a giant funnel, and a baseball-themed spray pad for a daily admission fee.
Whether you’re a local resident or visiting the for the day, the opening of the splash pad marks the unofficial start of the “summer of play” in Fountain Inn. Grab your towels, head downtown, and make a splash!
