Bells Crossing Elementary BETA Club Hosts Food Drive to Support Center for Community Services

February 22, 2026

Students at Bells Crossing Elementary are making a meaningful impact in their community through service and generosity. The school’s 5th Grade BETA Club recently organized a food drive benefiting the Center for Community Services, collecting a substantial amount of pantry items for local families in need.

According to the Center, the students not only gathered donations but also took an active role in delivering them. The group assisted longtime volunteer Terry Acker in loading his truck with the collected items, demonstrating both teamwork and a strong commitment to helping others.

Once delivered, the donations filled two large watermelon bins with some of the Center’s most urgently needed pantry staples — a contribution staff described as a significant blessing for the organization and the families it serves.

The Center also recognized the leadership behind the effort, offering special thanks to BETA Club sponsor Mrs. Ronnie Farrell for encouraging students to engage in service and community outreach.

Efforts like this highlight the important role local schools play in fostering civic responsibility and compassion among young people. Through initiatives such as food drives, students gain firsthand experience in addressing real needs within their own neighborhoods.

The Center for Community Services, located in Simpsonville, provides food assistance, resources, and support to individuals and families across the Golden Strip area. Community donations remain essential to sustaining its mission year-round.

This latest effort from Bells Crossing Elementary underscores how even the youngest community members can make a powerful difference.
