Beloved Mt. Pleasant Bottles ‘N Brushes Opens Second Location in Downtown Summerville September 2010

CHARLESTON, SC – August 24, 2010 – After much success since opening inMt. Pleasant in 2008, Bottles ‘n Brushes, an art studio that hostsweekly group painting classes, is opening a second location thisSeptember. The new location will open Sept. 1 in Summerville’s historicdistrict at 120 North Main Street. An Open House event will take placein conjunction with the Summerville DREAM Art Walk, Thursday, Sept. 16from 5 until 8 p.m. Art walkers are invited to stop by the new studiofor a cocktail, meet the owners and artists, and peruse Bottles ‘nBrushes artwork that is taught each night.

The Bottles ‘n Brushes group art classes are suitable for all levels ofexpertise. Using an online monthly calendar, participants sign up for aspecific class, follow step-by-step instructions from local professionalartists, paint and take home their artwork at the end of the class.

Classes run 2 to 3 hours, and cost $35 and $45 respectively, whichincludes all art supplies and the finished canvas. All painting stationsare set-up ahead of time by Bottles ‘n Brushes and the artist ison-hand throughout the class to answer any questions, making theexperience hassle-free and fun. Participants are invited to select fromthe Bottles ‘n Brushes beer and wine bar or bring their own beverages(no liquor) and food.

In other news, both the Mt. Pleasant and new Summerville studiosrecently introduced a new class called “Home Sweet Home” in whichparticipants paint their own home with the assistance of an on-siteartist. This is a spin-off of the hugely popular monthly class, “My BestFriend,” where Bottles ‘n Brushes prints a picture of the participant’spet and then the class paints their pets step-by-step on canvas.

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 21, the Mt. Pleasant studio will launch AfterSchool Art Classes, which will be held each Tuesday from 3:30 until 5p.m. for six weeks. These classes are open to students of all ages andcost is $125 plus tax. Additionally, a 6-week Hand-Built Pottery sessionwill begin Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 3:30-5:00 and is open to childrenof all ages. The pottery class cost is $200 plus tax. Reservations arerequired for both.
