Funding stems from One Cent Sales Tax Program
Berkeley County Council approved resurfacing work for 181 county-owned roads as part of the 2025-2026 One Cent Sales Tax Local Resurfacing Package. View the full list HERE. Berkeley County is preparing bid packages for the project, which will determine costs and a timeline for completion.
Funding for these projects will stem from the County’s One Cent Sales Tax Program. In November 2022, Berkeley County residents voted, through a referendum, to continue the County’s One Cent Sales Tax Program another seven years.
In addition to resurfacing projects, the One Cent Sales Tax Program helps fund improvements to highways, roads, bridges, other transportation-related project facilities, and Greenbelt Preservation projects.
