Berkeley County witnesses record-breaking early voting turnout

Transportation Support to be Provided at Election Headquarters

Due to record-breaking early voter turnout in Berkeley County, starting Thursday, October 24, 2024, overflow parking will be available at the old KJ’s parking lot at Bilo Drive in Moncks Corner. Tri-County Link will provide shuttle service from the overflow lot to the Berkeley County Administration Building at 1003 N. Highway 52. Traffic will continue to be rerouted at the Administration Building to accommodate the increase in visitors. Please review the attached map and follow all signage regarding these changes.

In the first two days of the Early Voting Period, 8,067 votes were cast throughout Berkeley County. The SC Election Commission is also reporting statewide record turnout for early voting. Voters are urged to prepare for longer wait times across all early voting locations and to consider bringing water, an umbrella, and comfortable shoes.

Below are the early voting locations available in Berkeley County 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon. – Sat. through November 2.

  • Hanahan Library: 1216 Old Murray Court, Hanahan, SC 29410
  • Redeemer R. E. Church: 2173 Highway 45, Pineville, SC 29468

Registered Berkeley County voters may cast a vote at any of the early voting locations. **Curbside voting is also available at each location.** You must have a photo ID to vote. To view your sample ballot, go HERE.

As a reminder, per South Carolina law (SECTION 7-25-180), the display of campaign material is not allowed within 500 feet of any entrance to a polling place on Election Day and during the early voting period. This law applies to any type of visual display of campaign material, including posters, pamphlets, brochures, signs, buttons, hats, T-shirts, etc. Voters displaying campaign material who enter the 500-foot area will be asked to remove the material, cover the material, or otherwise cause the material not to be seen.

Applications must be returned to the Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office in person or by mail by Friday, October 25 at 5 p.m. Completed ballots must be returned to the Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day (November 5). Photo ID is required to return your ballot in person.
