Berkshire Hathaway Energy acquires Dominion Energy natural gas business

As of November 1, 2020, Berkshire Hathaway Energy has completed its acquisition of Dominion Energy’s Gas Transmission and Storage business in the eastern region. This new company, BHE GT&S, is now a standalone subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s Pipeline Group and will be led by Paul Ruppert serving as President.
BHE GT&S assets and employees in the southeast include Carolina Gas Transmission:
- 108 employees
- Main office location: Columbia, SC
- Provides safe, reliable service to local distribution companies, municipalities, power generators and industrial operations in the growing southeast region of the US.
- Transports natural gas for end users in South Carolina and Georgia through 1,463 miles of transmission pipeline in South Carolina and 15 miles of pipeline in Georgia
In the eastern region, the names of the GT&S major operating companies will be:
- Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Inc. (f/k/a Dominion Energy Transmission, Inc.),
- Cove Point LNG, LP (f/k/a Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG, LP),
- Carolina Gas Transmission, LLC (f/k/a Dominion Energy Carolina Gas Transmission, LLC),
- Eastern Energy Field Services Inc. (f/k/a Dominion Energy Field Services Inc.),
- Pivotal LNG, Inc., and
- Niche LNG, LLC.
