November 10, 2017

Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina (BIA) presents donation to Gateway to the Army in support of Centennial Park at Fort Jackson. In attendance at the planning session for the construction of the Pavilions at Centennial Park were BIA Members John Covert, Covert Homes; Mike Cancilla, Essex Homes; Michael Nieri and Mike Satterfield, Great Southern Homes; Mark Hood, Hood Construction; Chris Condon and Ronnie Edenfield, Mungo Homes and Earl McLeod, BIA Executive Director. The five BIA Members have committed to build five of the six pavilions at Centennial Park in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Fort Jackson, an estimated in-kind contribution of over $125,000.

John Covert is coordinating the donations and construction of six pavilions at the park on behalf of the Building Industry Charitable Foundation, a South Carolina nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization affiliated with the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina. One more builder is needed for the sixth pavilion.
