Black Friday Fun on the Laurens Square: Pancakes, Shopping, and Holiday Cheer

November 22, 2025

Laurens County residents looking for a fun and festive start to their Black Friday will find plenty to enjoy on the Historic Square this year. On Friday, November 28, from 7–11 a.m., the Square will come alive with early shopping, community spirit, and a friendly competition guaranteed to deliver both laughs and great food.

Local shops will open early and offer specials throughout the day, giving residents a chance to support small businesses while checking off holiday gift lists. To add to the excitement, the morning will kick off with a pancake cook-off featuring the Laurens Police Department, Laurens Fire Department, and the Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.). Shoppers can enjoy the delicious rivalry as these community heroes go spatula-to-spatula for bragging rights.

Event organizers say there may even be a few surprises in store—gift certificates are expected to be given to some of the first visitors to arrive on the Square.

With good food, great deals, and holiday cheer filling the morning air, the Laurens Square Black Friday event offers a festive and community-focused way to launch the holiday shopping season. Families, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to bundle up and join in on the fun.

Black Friday on the Square takes place Friday, November 28, from 7–11 a.m. in downtown Laurens and the shopping continues all day.
