Black River United Way releases its 2025 Impact Report
January 13, 2026Black River United Way (BRUW) continues to lead Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties to sustainability by empowering the lives of its community members. It does this by working collaboratively with numerous partners to improve early childhood success and ensure our community members are prepared for disasters. The organization recently released its 2025 Impact Report, which showcases many of the successes achieved throughout the past year.
According to Yolanda McCray, BRUW president and CEO, they closed the year strong with its Annual Pickle for Progress Pickleball Tournament, which raised more than $15,000 this fall. Those funds help support the organization’s two core initiatives: Youth Opportunity and Community Resilience.
“These dollars represent more than numbers,” McCray said. “They represent hope, stability, and opportunity for individuals and families throughout our service area.”
Through its our annual Giving Tuesday in Reverse, BRUW delivered thank-you gifts to more than 50 local businesses which support the local nonprofit in numerous ways during 2025. It was a small gesture to express a very big appreciation for the businesses, volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders who believe in the BRUW mission.
