Blood Cancer United announces Heartsong Hospice as presenting sponsor for 2025 Light The Night Columbia event
October 2, 2025New Name, Same Mission: Light The Night is the first event to launch under The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s New Name – Blood Cancer United
The Midlands Region of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which is now Blood Cancer United®, is excited to announce that Heartsong Hospice has joined the 2025 Light The Night® campaign as this year’s Presenting Sponsor. Heartsong Hospice and hundreds of local supporters will come together to illuminate the skies and raise funds to help propel Blood Cancer United’s mission: to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families.
Each Fall, approximately 100 communities join together carrying illuminated lanterns, white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer, to take steps to end blood cancer. Since its inception in 1993, Light The Night has been the organization’s signature annual event series drawing supporters across North America to raise funds for groundbreaking blood cancer research and crucial patient resources and support.
“We’re thrilled to have Heartsong Hospice as our Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Midlands Light The Night event,” said, Bryan Landry, executive director at Blood Cancer United’s Georgia/South Carolina Region. “Sponsors like Heartsong Hospice are supporting the work to achieve our bold goal: By 2040, Blood Cancer United will enable blood cancer patients across the country to gain more than one million years of life.”
Light The Night Columbia’s celebration of light, support, and what we can achieve for blood cancer patients will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the South Carolina State House from 5:30-7:30pm. For more information or to get involved, visit https://www.lightthenight.org/events/columbia.
About Heartsong Hospice
Heartsong Hospice brings compassionate, expert care directly to where patients feel most at home. Our locally owned and operated team—made up of board-certified physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and bereavement counselors—focuses on dignity, comfort, and support for both patients and families. We manage pain and symptoms, provide emotional and spiritual care, and are available 24/7 to answer questions and respond when it matters most. Unlike large corporate hospices, decisions here are made by the people who know and care about this community. Families can trust in our dedication, which is why we were recently voted “Gold-Hospice- 2025 The State’s Best”.
