Blue Granite Water Company announced key leadership appointments that reinforce its commitment to improving the utility for the benefit of its customers to provide reliable, compliant, and safe water and wastewater operations across South Carolina.
Danny Smith has been named area manager for Anderson and Simpsonville, while Mike Davis has been promoted to director of operations, overseeing Blue Granite’s operations in Anderson, Simpsonville, and Rock Hill areas.
“These appointments reflect our continued investment in strong local leadership and operational excellence,” said Craig Sorensen, president of South Carolina Water Utilities. “Danny and Mike bring deep experience, proven judgment, and a clear understanding of what it takes to operate complex systems safely, reliably, and in full compliance with state and federal requirements.”
As area manager, Danny Smith will oversee day-to-day operations in Anderson and Simpsonville, working closely with field teams to ensure consistent service, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship. Smith brings extensive experience in wastewater treatment operations, utilities management, and team leadership, with a background in managing multiple treatment facilities and supporting complex collection systems.
In his expanded role as director of operations, Mike Davis will lead operational strategy and oversight across the Upstate and Rock Hill regions. Davis has more than 30 years of experience in water and wastewater operations, including system planning, facility design and construction support, regulatory compliance, emergency response coordination, and workforce development. His leadership is instrumental in maintaining operational continuity while mentoring and developing field and operations staff.
Together, Smith and Davis will focus on maintaining high service standards, strengthening operational resilience, and supporting long-term infrastructure investments across Blue Granite’s service areas.
