Blue Hose Dominate Stetson, Stay Perfect at 7–0 on Homecoming Saturday

October 19, 2025

Presbyterian College football delivered another commanding performance on a picture-perfect Homecoming Saturday, defeating the Stetson Hatters 42–7 before a crowd of more than 7,000 at Bailey Memorial Stadium.

The win lifted the Blue Hose to 7–0 overall and 3–0 in the Pioneer Football League, extending their winning streak to 11 games—the program’s longest since 1959—and marking their sixth consecutive home victory. When the clock struck midnight, PC had officially gone an entire year without a loss.

Sophomore running back Justin Montgomery powered the offense with three rushing touchdowns from 21, four, and two yards out, becoming the first Blue Hose player since 2017 to record three rushing scores in a single game. Montgomery now has six touchdowns on the season and 257 yards rushing in league play.

Quarterback Collin Hurst continued his efficient run, completing 19 of 27 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown to senior receiver Cincere Gill, who finished with six catches for 100 yards—his third career 100-yard game. Backup QB Ty Englehart added a rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

The PC defense once again proved dominant, forcing eight consecutive punts or turnovers on downs. Stetson was scoreless until the final 10 minutes, becoming the first team this season to find the end zone in the fourth quarter against Presbyterian. The Hatters managed just 125 passing yards and converted only 5 of 18 third-down attempts. Senior linebacker Boyce Bankhead anchored the defense with 11 tackles, following up his career-high 14 from last week. Malachi Gordon sealed the win with a late interception, PC’s tenth pick of the season—second-most among all FCS teams.

During their 11-game winning streak, the Blue Hose have averaged 39 points per game while allowing only 15. Their offensive output ranks tenth nationally in total yards, while the defense sits among the top five in the FCS for fewest yards allowed.

Presbyterian will look to keep the momentum rolling when they travel to Dayton on October 25, with kickoff scheduled for noon. The game will be streamed live on YouTube.
