Blue Hose Even Series Against EMU with Thrilling Walk-Off

The Presbyterian College baseball team (6-6) secured a dramatic 10-9 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles (5-5) on Sunday afternoon, evening their four-game series with a thrilling walk-off win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

– EMU struck first, plating a run in the top of the opening inning.

– In the bottom of the second, Ryan Ouzts delivered an RBI single, scoring Brody Linker and giving PC a 2-1 lead.

– The Eagles responded with a solo home run in the third, tying the game at 2-2.

– A two-run fourth inning put EMU back in front, 4-2.

– In the bottom half, Linker’s RBI single brought home Jake Randolph, cutting the deficit to 4-3.

– EMU tacked on two more runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 6-3.

– After a scoreless sixth inning, Jackson Hugus led off the bottom of the seventh with a double down the left field line. Linker then launched a two-run homer over the left-center wall, pulling PC within one.

– As the next batter, Ouzts followed up with a solo home run, tying the game at 6-6. Not long after, Trey Fenderson ripped an RBI single through the left side, scoring Aaron Hobson. After stealing second and third, Fenderson came home on an RBI single from Rhogue Wallace, capping off a five-run inning and giving PC an 8-6 advantage.

– In the top of the eighth, EMU’s Giano Zuccaro belted a three-run homer, shifting the lead back to the Eagles at 9-8.

– Jacob Fields held EMU scoreless in the ninth, setting up a dramatic finish.

– Mikah Conner led off with a base hit and promptly stole second and third. Wallace drew a walk and stole second, putting the tying and winning runs in scoring position. Cam Mallo then came through in the clutch, lifting a sacrifice fly to right field to score Conner, knotting the game at 9-9. Moments later, a wild pitch allowed Wallace to dash home, sealing the Blue Hose’s 10-9 walk-off victory.
