BlueCross urges residents not to miss ACA deadline on December 15

December 5, 2017

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina offers convenient, local enrollment centers throughout the state to help people before Dec. 15.

Open enrollment for individual health insurance under the Affordable Care Act ends Dec. 15. Any person wanting coverage starting 2018 must sign up by the deadline. To make it easier for people, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is setting up 19 enrollment centers throughout the state. Individuals or families can speak with agents and find plans specific to their needs.

BlueCross made modifications to the Gold, Silver and Bronze plans to fit a variety of lifestyle choices for individuals and families this year. All plans cover the same essential health benefits, but the costs will vary based on the metallic level. BlueCross is offering 24 plans on the health care exchange, including the BlueEssentialsSM Bronze 4 plan, which could have a zero premium, depending on a person’s income and eligibility for subsidies. In addition, some of the plans have lower copays, smaller deductibles and a variety of prescription drug benefits.

The centers will be in a number of locations, including hotels and business offices. The dates, locations and times are:
