Blundy announces bid for Solicitor
March 25, 2024On Saturday, March 16, Beth Blundy, a trusted conservative prosecutor, officially filed as a Republican for the office of Solicitor of the Tenth Judicial Circuit. A graduate of the highly selective Hillsdale College, one of the top-ranked conservative schools in the country, Beth’s journey through academia was marked by her unwavering commitment to defending liberty and pursuing justice. After graduating from Hillsdale College, Beth went on to attend the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and graduated with honors, cum laude.
In 2010, Beth began working for the Tenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, where she prosecuted DUI and domestic violence cases. Blundy’s immediate impact in the courtroom continued over the course of her career, and she has successfully tried hundreds of cases, with an impressive record of putting criminals behind bars. Now, fourteen years later, Blundy serves as the Senior Assistant Solicitor.
“Liberal politicians around the country are putting criminals ahead of hard-working, law-abiding citizens, threatening the safety of American families. It’s important that we keep that kind of thinking out of our community. As a conservative Republican, I’ll stand up for our values,” said Blundy. According to Blundy, law enforcement must be handled at the local level and not be dictated by politicians in Washington. “National efforts to defund the police, to let hardened criminals out of jail and so called “reforms” like cashless bail put citizens at risk.
She believes violent criminals and repeat offenders threaten the very fabric of our society and is working against national efforts pushing for decarceration and calls to defund the police. As Solicitor, Beth will continue to support law enforcement and work alongside them to keep crime low and make our community safer. Additionally, she will work to alleviate the burden on the justice system by directing those with drug addiction and mental health conditions into Drug and Mental Health Courts to help them become productive members of society. Beth believes in remembering the sacrifices made by our heroes and plans to implement a Veteran’s court to address the specific needs of those who have served our nation.
Beth is married to Dr. Eric Blundy, and they live with their young twins, Samuel and Eliana, in Seneca. They are active members of NewSpring Church.
