Bon Secours Health System Takes Top Award from Practice GreenHealth

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD—Bon Secours Health System is pleased to announce it has been selected as the winner of Practice GreenHealth’s 2014 System for Change Award for the fourth consecutive year. This environmental excellence award is bestowed upon health systems which have proven success in improving environmental performance and demonstrated dedication to a higher standard of sustainability. Practice GreenHealth is a national membership organization for healthcare facilities committed to environmentally responsible operations.
In the Upstate, two Greenville-area hospitals received awards for ecological stewardship and leadership. ST. FRANCIS downtown and ST. FRANCIS eastside received the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award, Practice Greenhealth’s highest honor for hospitals. In addition, ST. FRANCIS eastside—the first and only hospital in South Carolina to earn FDA ENERGY STAR™ certification—received Practice GreenHealth’s Circle of Excellence Awards for Leadership and for Energy.
