Bon Secours opens new suite to enhance digestive health services

September 18, 2025

Bon Secours St. Francis is celebrating the opening of its new, state-of-the-art fluoroscopy-equipped endoscopy suite. The $4 million investment underscores the health system’s commitment to delivering advanced gastroenterology care to patients across the Upstate.

The newly designed suite expands what is possible in minimally invasive care, offering patients access to some of the most advanced endoscopic procedures available today, including:

  • Endoscopic weight loss procedures
  • Removal of large and complex polyps
  • Advanced therapeutic procedures for patients with jaundice
  • Minimally invasive options for patients who are not candidates for gallbladder surgery

“This investment allows us to provide treatments that, until now, required travel to larger academic centers,” said Dr. Veeral Oza with Bon Secours St. Francis Gastroenterology. “With the addition of advanced fluoroscopy technology, we are not only expanding what’s possible for our patients, but also creating a platform for education, collaboration, and innovation that will benefit our community for years to come.”

The suite is also equipped with a next-generation video system that connects Bon Secours clinicians to a national community of experts. This real-time collaboration allows complex cases to be shared and discussed live with leading physicians across the country, ensuring patients in Greenville benefit from the most current knowledge and expertise in the field.

“With this milestone, Bon Secours St. Francis Downtown is laying the foundation for a Center of Excellence in Gastroenterology, beginning with Interventional Endoscopy,” said Chris O’Donnell, Vice President of Surgical Services for Bon Secours St. Francis. “Our goal is to continually raise the bar in patient care by investing in technology, expertise and innovation.”
