Bridge closures and detours for I-26 Midlands Connection Project

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announces overpass bridge closures at Holy Trinity Church Road and Parr Road for I-26 Midlands Connection project construction. Detour routes have been identified for the closures and are shown in the attached map.
The anticipated detour schedule is as follows:
Holy Trinity Church Road: April 20, 2020 – December 21, 2020
Parr Road: May 13, 2020 – January 13, 2021
Detour routes will be appropriately signed to direct traffic in the area. SCDOT reminds the public to please use caution while driving through work zones.
The SCDOT Midlands Connection project will improve a 16-mile segment of the Interstate 26 roadway system that stretches from Exit 85 in Little Mountain to Exit 101 in Irmo. The project will widen the I-26 roadway, modify three interchanges and replace seven overpass bridges. This project is part of SCDOT’s Strategic 10-Year Plan.
