Business partner allows Greenville Tech students to compete
May 18, 2011GREENVILLE, SC – May 18, 2011 – Machine Tool Technology students at Greenville Tech participated in state level competition for SkillsUSA and won in the categories of Precision Machining, CNC Lathe, and CNC Milling. Winning at the state level automatically qualified the winners for national competition. However, competitors are responsible for paying their own way to the competition, to be held in Kansas City, Missouri, June 19-24.
These expenses could have been a hurdle that kept the students from competing were it not for Faurecia, which stepped up to provide $5,500 for travel. Students will participate in several needed projects at Faurecia to show their appreciation for the support and gain hands-on experience in the process.
