Byford, Lineberry and Hanks Join Phillips Staffing

GREENVILLE, SC, August 17, 2011 – Phillips Staffing has hired Peter “Pete” Byford, Carly Lineberry and Wayne Hanks. Mr. Byford serves as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of S.B. Phillips Co., Inc. Mrs. Lineberry is part of the Phillips Staffing Team and serves in the role of Workforce Readiness Associate. Mr. Hanks is an Accounting Associate for Phillips Staffing.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Byford was the principal of Byford Law, LLC, a boutique firm providing general counsel services to small and mid-cap businesses and their owners. Mr. Byford’s experience also includes serving as the President of Banker Exchange, LLC, a national qualified intermediary for Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges. Prior to joining Banker Exchange, Mr. Byford was a tax and corporate attorney with the law firm of Leatherwood Walker Todd & Mann, P.C., where he advised business clients in all aspects of their business operations.
Mr. Byford received his LLM in taxation from the University of Denver and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is also a graduate of the Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. He is actively involved in the thriving Greenville Community and previously served as the Treasurer of the Advisory Board to the Salvation Army of Greenville and currently serves on their Kroc Community Center Capital Campaign Executive Committee.
Mrs. Lineberry, Workforce Readiness Associate, has worked in the past five years with Upstate Workforce Investment Board and Upstate Career Source as a Direct Supervisor for Customer Service staff and WIA case managers. She brings an extensive knowledge of Federal, State and local policies regarding the Workforce Investment Act. Mrs. Lineberry will initially be involved with establishing an unemployment tracking system and all WorkKeys related activities. WorkKeys is a well-established and recognized international assessment system. Mrs. Lineberry is a graduate of USC-Upstate.
Mr. Hanks has over 30 years of corporate accounting experience. He joins Phillips Staffing from Diversified Coatings Systems in Greenville. He is a graduate from the University of Baltimore and has been a CPA since 1989. Mr. Hanks will handle accounts receivable and accounts payable for Phillips Staffing.
