Cafe Framboise announces new owner Nicole Mallory- Sister restaurant bistro A Vin reopens for takeout and delivery

May 4, 2020

As restaurants across the city and nation announce permanent closures, Charleston’s quaint, French nook Café Framboise announces an eager and optimistic new Owner. Natives of France, Dominique and Florence Chantepie have handed the keys over to Nicole Mallory, a hardworking mother of five who has dreamed of owning her own café since she was a little girl. Mallory, who previously served as the owner of an in-home care center in Myrtle Beach, has big plans to keep the café a gathering place for the Charleston community. She is thrilled to have South Carolina Chef Ambassador Forrest Parker join the café as Chef Consultant, and has debuted a new gourmet “Le Marche” dinner menu available for take-out and delivery, with mouthwatering dishes like Cassoulet, Beef Bourguignon and Paella (image attached).

“Call me crazy, call me hopeful, but I am beyond excited to be taking over as the new Owner of Café Framboise,” shares Mallory. “In the true spirit of everyone in the F&B industry, I, along with the help of Dominique and Florence, are continuing to fight with strength and positivity to keep our café open and serve patrons.”

“Nicole is smart, determined and passionate, and we have the utmost confidence that she will excel as the new owner,” shares Florence. “Dominique and I plan to stay in an advisory role for at least the next five years, and look forward to focusing the majority of our attention on our sister restaurant located next door, Bistro A Vin.”

In addition to serving as Chef Consultant at the café, Parker serves as the Founder and Chief Culinary Evangelist of Undiscovered Charleston, which offers culinary history walks tours and tasting experiences to Charleston locals and visitors.

Cozy and sleek Bistro A Vin (one of the stops on Parker’s tour), will reopen this Wednesday, May 6, offering a selection of premier wines and dinner items, available for pick up or delivery (cuisine only). Guests can walk in and quickly peruse Dominique and Florence’s expertly selected wines, like French Chardonnay Laroque and Rosé´VillaViva, in a safe environment to take home, along with the Bistro’s beloved cheese platters and dishes like Duck Confit and Smoked Salmon Bilinis (also available for delivery).

Bistro A Vin is open for dinner for take-out and delivery Tuesday through Saturday from 3-8 p.m. Café Framboise is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner for take-out and delivery Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m.- 7 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m (delivery available on DoorDash, Chownow and GrubHub).
