Carlisle SynTec Systems donates free roof to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston

Carlisle SynTec Systems, a leading provider of commercial roofing products, recently gave back to the community by donating a free roof to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston. After inspection of the roof and identifying deficiencies, Baker Roofing of Charleston directed the Charleston Ronald McDonald House to contact the Roofing Alliance. The Roofing Alliance partners with Ronald McDonald House Charities® to provide service, repairs, and replacements on RMHC roofs nationwide. Through this charitable program, Baker Roofing has adopted the Charleston Ronald McDonald House to continue service to address all future roofing needs.

The project was completed with the help of Premier Building Products and Baker Roofing, who provided the labor to install the roof free of charge.

Since opening their doors 37 years ago, the Charleston Ronald McDonald House has acted as a ‘Home-away-from-home’ for families whose children are undergoing extensive medical treatment. To help them lead as normal a life as possible during their stay, families have comfortable beds, hot meals, a caring staff, and a four-legged friend, Gardy, all just steps from the hospital. The new roof from Carlisle, Premier Building Products, and Baker Roofing will help the Ronald McDonald House provide parents with a place of refuge for years to come.

Baker Roofing began the project Monday, April 19, and finished on Saturday, April 24. Residents were temporarily relocated so that there was no disruption to them during the construction project.

Kathy Papadimitriou, the CEO of RMHC Charleston, said, “We are grateful to Carlisle for supplying the roofing materials needed and to Premier Building Products and Baker Roofing for making this project happen. We were 10 years overdue in replacing our roof and are especially thankful for this gift when supplies are so limited during this pandemic. RMHC Charleston has been fortunate to not have had to close our doors during this time. It’s because of our community and supporters that make it all possible and with donations like this that allow us to keep fulfilling our mission. On behalf of all the families, we thank you.”
