Cason Development Group adds Vice President of Finance

Cason Development has expanded its team with the addition of Brian Ford, a Columbia native and 15-year veteran of the finance and accounting industry, as Vice President of Finance. In this role, he will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and capital planning, to support the company’s continued growth and development initiatives.

A Certified Public Accountant, Ford most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of the South Carolina Education Lottery, where he managed financial planning and oversight of revenues exceeding $2.5 billion annually. During his tenure, he led strategic initiatives that enhanced profitability, improved compliance, and expanded support for education funding across the state.
Ford earned his Master of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Wofford College, where he was a member of the football team and active in student leadership. He is also a graduate of Leadership Columbia.

Ford has also been active in the community, serving as State Chairman of Ducks Unlimited in South Carolina, where he helped raise more than $5 million for wetlands conservation. He is a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, where he served on the Officer Nominating Committee.
He and his wife, Francie, have two children and live in Columbia. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, natural resource conservation, and cheering on his favorite football and baseball teams.
