Cayce Mayor Elise Partin honored with Best Public Official award
September 6, 2024On Tuesday, September 3 at the City of Cayce Council meeting, Cayce Mayor Elise Partin was recognized as the Best Public Official in Lexington, SC.
Partin is the longest serving Mayor in the Midlands and was named Best Of out of all Lexington County elected officials from SC Senate, House of Representatives to County Council, School Boards and the 14 municipalities in Lexington County.
The City of Cayce took home many awards for Best Of including: Best Law Enforcement Officer, Sgt. Mandy Fournier; Best Community Event – Soiree on State; and Best Park – Cayce Riverwalk. The Lexington County Chronicle presented the awards.
“With many great elected officials in Lexington County, it was an honor to be recognized in this way.” said Partin. “The good we have been doing in Cayce is thanks to our awesome staff who have a heart for customer service.”
Cayce has been transformed under Partin’s leadership. Supporting staff in doing the job they’re being asked to do, championing the extension of the Riverwalk to create roughly 20 miles of trails within the City and bringing the idea for a street party that is secretly an economic development engine (Soiree on State) from her time with the Mayors Institute on City Design have grown Cayce to be known as one of the top 10 most tax-friendly places to retire in South Carolina and as the number one city in S.C. for recent graduates and millennials, according to a recent study by NerdWallet.
