CBRE arranges 7,575 SF lease for Pond & Company, Inc. in Columbia’s central business district

CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Pond & Company, Inc. (“Pond”) has occupied 7,575 sq. ft. at 1301 Gervais Street in Columbia, South Carolina’s central business district. Marie Dieckmann and Craig Goldberg of CBRE represented the Georgia-based architectural and engineering consulting firm in the lease transaction.
Pond is a full-service architecture, engineering, planning and construction firm with offices in four countries. The firm is ranked #133 in ENR’s “Top 500 Engineering Firms” as well as #195 in ENR’s “Top 225 International Design Firms.” In 2016, Pond acquired local CDA Architects and relocated from 1122 Lady Street to re-brand their image in the Columbia market. Pond will utilize a new, open, modern space with moveable walls and additional square footage to accommodate for growth.

According to CBRE’s Q2 2017 Columbia Office MarketView, the Columbia market is experiencing a modest rise in asking rates, especially in the CBD. With rates rising, tenants are demanding higher quality real estate with better amenities and common areas.
