CBRE has represented ACL Airshop, a subsidiary of Ranger Aerospace, in the acquisition of the company’s new Greenville, SC, facility. ACL Airshop approached CBRE to help locate and select the most suitable site to expand and modernize its manufacturing operations. After a thorough selection process, the firm acquired a build-to-suit property in Park West Commerce Park in the west Greenville submarket with plans to build a 60,000-sq.-ft. air cargo product factory.
CBRE’s Trey Pennington represented ACL Airshop in the site selection and acquisition. CBRE’s Bill Connor will handle the project management services on ACL Airshop’s behalf. Greenville-based developer The Furman Co. will lead the construction of the facility. Harper Corp. is the general contractor; MCA Architects created the unique design.
“It was a pleasure working alongside ACL Airshop and Ranger Aerospace to find the perfect location for the company’s expansion plans in South Carolina,” said Mr. Pennington, senior vice president at CBRE. “Park West Commerce Park is in a strategic location, adjacent to I-85, and the opportunity to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility was very attractive to ACL Airshop. There are two remaining build-to-suit sites for sale at the park and we’re looking forward to further investments from companies looking to expand in the Upstate area.”
The new facility will feature high bay manufacturing spaces for air cargo nets, transportation straps and other products. Amenities for employees will include indoor and outdoor gathering spaces and a future workout center for fitness and health.
“CBRE helped us every step along the way in a year-long search process,” said Steve Townes, CEO of ACL Airshop and founder of Ranger Aerospace. “They executed brilliantly, giving us a landmark-quality facility that will serve our customers and employees very well.”
Supporting the air cargo industry, ACL Airshop has become a leading worldwide provider of fleet control, leasing, sales and repair services for custom unit load device (ULD) solutions. The company also manufactures cargo control products, operating on six continents and serving more than half of the world’s top 50 air cargo hub airports. In the coming years, ACL Airshop plans to expand to serve a majority of the world’s top 100 airports.
“We are extremely pleased and fortunate to have ACL Airshop as a partner. The Furman Co. prides itself in partnering with high quality reputable corporations on superior development ventures. Located along Greenville’s primary gateway off Interstate 85, Park West Commerce is designed to accommodate high profile companies and is a perfect fit for a dynamic worldwide operation like ACL Airshop,” said Robert Poppleton, Development Manager at The Furman Co.
