CCSD announces community conversation on peninsula schools

December 9, 2025

Charleston County School District (CCSD) invites families and community members to a community conversation. Superintendent Anita Huggins will engage directly with parents, students, and residents about the additional resources, opportunities, and supports needed to help children and families thrive in downtown Charleston.

A key priority Superintendent Huggins will discuss is CCSD’s commitment to launching universal Pre-K on the Charleston peninsula, an important first step toward ensuring every child enters kindergarten supported and ready to learn.

Feedback gathered at the meeting will help shape plans for early childhood programming as well as the broader range of supports students need from Pre-K through graduation.

Dinner will be provided. All peninsula families are encouraged to attend.

When: Wednesday, December 10, 2025; 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Where: Burke High School, 244 President Street, Charleston, SC 29403
