CCSD names Rhonda Robinson director of Federal Programs

Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced Rhonda Robinson as the director of Federal Programs. Robinson has served as the director of federal programs for Dorchester School District Four for the last ten years.

Robinson is a native of Colleton County, South Carolina, where she began her career in education as a classroom teacher of four-year-olds and fourth graders for a total of six years. In 1998, she left the Lowcountry to serve in Williamsburg County School District as the assistant principal for one year at Kingstree Elementary School and then as the principal of Battery Park Elementary School for five years. She later served as the principal of Brunson-Dargan Elementary School in Darlington County School District for three years, where she successfully led improvement efforts via the Teacher Advancement Program.

In 2007, she began her tenure in Dorchester School District Four, where she first served as the director of Staff Development for two years, and has served as the director of Federal Programs since 2009. During this time, she has been active at the local, state, and federal levels of education. She has served as the Dorchester County First Steps Partnership Board chairperson for the past two years, is a past president of the South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators, and is a former state representative on the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators Board.

I am very pleased to welcome Rhonda and look forward to working with her.”

Robinson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Education degree from The Citadel.
