CCSD partners with MUSC and Trident Technical College to launch new Health Science Cohort

Charleston County School District (CCSD), in collaboration with The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Trident Technical College, announces the launch of an exciting new MUSC Health Science Cohort at Early College High School. This innovative program will provide students with opportunities to gain diverse hands-on experiences, earn industry certifications, and accumulate college credits, setting the foundation for rewarding careers in healthcare. Much of students’ senior-level experiences will occur on the campus of MUSC.

Program Highlights:

  • Career exploration in multiple fields including, but not limited to, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Behavioral Health, Emergency Medicine, Diagnostic Medicine, and more.
  • Real-world training through job shadowing, internships, and clinical rotations at MUSC.
  • Certifications, including CPR, HIPAA, BLS, CNA, and Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
  • Dual enrollment with Trident Technical College, allows students to earn up to 36 college credits, including an Associate of Science or Applied Science Degree.
  • Mentorship and cutting-edge training provided by MUSC professionals.
