Celebrate Charleston Restaurant Week at 5Church and Tempest

Charleston Restaurant Week is fast approaching and two restaurants from the 5th Street Group, 5Church Charleston and Tempest, are ready to celebrate with special menus running from September 9-19.

• 5Church Charleston – 3 Courses for $40 (Dinner)
First Course options include: Moroccan Meatballs with a spiced BBQ glaze, whipped feta, cucumbers and gremolata, Heirloom Tomato Salad with cashew pesto, CCH smoked fromage frais, watercress and onion ash or Ceviche with aqua chile, avocado mousse, coleslaw and crispy chips. Entrée options include: Salmon with sunchokes, local peaches, oyster mushrooms, and Heron Farms sea beans, Joyce Farms Chicken with a creamy herb polenta, broccoli rabe, pear jus and chicken crumbs, Roasted Garlic Tagliatelle with a roasted eggplant puree, smoked tomato brood, summer squash and parmesan, Filet ($15 Supplement) with tomato conserva, confit fingerlings, gorgonzola fondue and charmuola or 60 Second Steak ($15 Supplement) with emulsified chimi churri, peach vinaigrette, shishito peppers and Japanese eggplant. Dessert options include: Roasted Apple Galette, S’mores or Citrus Tart.

• Tempest – 3 Courses for $40 (Dinner)
First Course options include: Red Oak Salad with pepper vinaigrette, pickled farmhouse vegetables, mushroom crema and pistachios, Crudo with smoked watermelon, sesame, grapefruit and candied hot chilies or Octopus with vadouvan, pine nut, cauliflower and burnt orange. Entrée options include: Grouper with nuoc cham vinaigrette, mussels and okra, Swordfish with duck fat poached, red curry and Japanese eggplant, Snapper with apricot jus, spring onion and rooftop greens, Tagliolini with red wine braised carrots, “sugo” and gremolata, Whole Fish ($10 Supplement) or Ribeye ($15 Supplement). Desert options include: Carolina Gold Rice Pudding, Hummingbird Cake or Grapefruit Mousse Cake.
Note: Tempest will also offer their Chilled or Charcoal-Roasted shrimp, clams, lobster and oysters at market price, as well as their Tempest Towers for $60, $90 or $120.
