Here at the Community Foundation, we celebrate philanthropy every day. We have a front row ticket to watch giving in the Midlands and we regularly witness the generosity that makes our community an incredible place to call home. We are fortunate to have a seat at the table to discuss solutions to our community’s issues and be an eyewitness to the time and talent our neighbors, regardless of background, wealth or title, share with our community in addressing these tough problems.
Four years ago, we recognized an opportunity to shine a spotlight on these efforts. We invited you, and other residents of the Midlands, to join us in thanking those whose significant contributions to our community are a key part of their life’s work. Every day people in our community make a difference and once a year we celebrate those who make giving back a priority for themselves, their family or their business.
Each of the past four years we’ve received dozens of nominations for each of our five categories and each year we’ve been awed by the depth and breadth of selfless service demonstrated throughout our community.
Today, we invite you to meet our 2013 Best of Philanthropy honorees and join us in celebrating the extraordinary efforts of everyday people making an impact on the Midlands.
