Central Carolina Community Foundation accepting financial donations to support flood relief efforts

October 5, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC- Central Carolina Community Foundation is accepting financial donations to support organizations that are and will be responding to the needs of flood victims in the Midlands via its website at www.yourfoundation.org.  The Foundation serves eleven Midlands counties, including those hardest hit by flooding. In response, a fund has been established at the Foundation, and 100% of monies donated will go directly to help flood relief efforts.

To donate, go to www.yourfoundation.org, click on “Give Now,” choose “Donate to the Community Fund.” Under “Please Make Selection,” choose “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” and type “SC Flood.” You may include the name of a specific county if you wish.

For 31 years, the Central Carolina Community Foundation has served the Midlands. Because the Foundation manages funds for nonprofits and private donors, and distributes grant monies and scholarships as part of its daily operations, the infrastructure is already in place to accept online donations and distribute 100% of monies donated to organizations helping flood victims.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by the flooding. We are very grateful for our first responders who are demonstrating great courage in helping those in need,” says JoAnn Turnquist, President and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation.

Foundation offices are closed today but will be open tomorrow to accept monetary donations. If you have any questions about giving, please email JoAnn Turnquist directly at [email protected].
