CHA to participate in National Night Out with local law enforcement – August 7
August 6, 2018The Columbia Housing Authority (CHA) will participate in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7 at its Dorrah-Randall Community (5716 Randall Ave) from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Local law enforcement from the Columbia Police Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Department will be in attendance to help cultivate strong relationships between law enforcement to promote public safety information.
“We hope that in hosting this National Night Out event, we can build better relationships with our local officers to make our neighborhoods safer,” said Executive Director, Gilbert Walker. “It presents a great opportunity for our residents to interact with local law enforcement under a positive circumstance.”
At the event there will be many activities for children such as, horseback riding, bounce houses and a tug-a-war competition. There will be a safe community commitment pledge where participants will be releasing balloons in the air as a sign of commitment and unity. Food and music will be provided for entertainment.
