Chamber’s Leadership Charleston Participants Are Going Places In The Business Community
June 27, 2012CHARLESTON, SC – June 27, 2012 – Fifty community and business leaders graduated from the 10-month Leadership Charleston program in a ceremony held in front of employers, family and friends at the South Carolina Aquarium on June 21. The Chamber has been producing the Leadership Charleston program since 1974 and has graduated nearly 1,900 since its inception.
The program features prominent and stimulating speakers who encourage discussion and participation along with visits to various community assets, including schools, hospitals, the Port of Charleston, military facilities, and a trip to the S.C. Statehouse. In addition to examining leadership roles in political, social, and economic affairs, participants utilized the opportunity to communicate with local elected officials and community leaders. Leadership Charleston offered an intensive and up-close look at various sectors of the community. Participants had the opportunity to explore and analyze issues that impact the region.
