Chamber, The Brand Leader announce “S.C. Branded” awards celebration

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce announced a partnership with Upstate S.C. marketing group The Brand Leader, to establish a new, statewide initiative and event celebrating South Carolina’s most recognizable brands called S.C. Branded.
S.C. Branded will be held November 2, 2017, at 1208 Washington in downtown Columbia and will focus on companies, people and products that define South Carolina. The event includes 15 awards—called “Brandys”—presented to qualifying companies, products and people from across South Carolina who have become known for their brand’s meaning and impact on the state.
“Here in South Carolina, we have a remarkable quality of life and a big part of that is our vibrant business community which includes some of the best brands in the world,” said Ted Pitts, President and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. “We see this partnership as an opportunity to highlight the companies and brands uniquely authentic to the state, who personify South Carolina and what we at the Chamber represent—a thriving, business-friendly economy.”
“Over the years, the brand of South Carolina has changed, and a big part of that transformation is a direct result of the homegrown businesses and brands that have been a catalyst in driving both change and the perception of our state and what it represents,” said Geoff Wasserman, CEO of The Brand Leader. “Through this event we look forward to telling those stories and celebrating the businesses, people and products that make the brand of South Carolina what it is, and who are moving our state forward in the future.”
