Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) proudly announces the successful completion of the National Crappie League (NCL) Tournament, held October 3-4, 2025, at Dreher Island State Park. The two-day event brought together top crappie anglers from across the country, showcasing Lake Murray’s reputation as one of the premier fishing destinations in the Southeast.
In the Pro Division, the team of Byars and Smith claimed first place, followed by Cooley and Parker in second, and Addy and Addy in third. In the Amateur Division, Koon and Frick took home top honors, with Dannenmueller and Dannenmueller finishing second and Metcalf rounding out the podium in third place.
Hosted by CCLMC, the event drew both professional and amateur anglers eager to test their skills on the lake’s diverse waters. Spectators gathered daily at Dreher Island State Park to enjoy weigh-ins, vendor displays, and a Free Kids Fishing Rodeo on Saturday morning that introduced young participants to the sport of fishing.
The tournament was sponsored nationally by Happy Hollow Outdoors, with additional support from DMF Bait, BUBBA, Power-Pole Total Boat Control, Purpose Built Optics, Engel Coolers, Everharts Outdoor Store, and many more industry partners.
