Chapin Community Summit II planned for November 14

October 17, 2016

The Town of Chapin will host the Chapin Community Summit II on Monday, November 14 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Community Room at Town Hall (157 NW Columbia Avenue). All of the service organizations operating in the greater Chapin area are invited to participate.

“The goal of this meeting is for all the service organizations to come together and highlight the projects and program directives they are focusing on in our community,” explained Karen Owens, director of communications and economic development for the town. “There was a similar meeting a few years back, and it was very helpful in connecting people and identifying resources and programs in the community. As people change and groups evolve, we knew it was time to schedule a follow up meeting.”

Each organization will have five minutes to introduce themselves and share current activities their group is coordinating for the benefit of the community and the citizens they serve. The town hopes to facilitate discussion that will foster collaboration and possibly identify priority areas for the 2017 Community Service Day, which is scheduled for April 1, 2017.

The event is free and open to the public. The town asks that individuals wishing to participate in the presentations on behalf of their service organization, church, school or civic group register by email to [email protected] or call 345-2444.
