Charleston AMA and local firms join forces to empower Lowcountry non-profits

The Charleston American Marketing Association (AMA) announced the launch of Campaign in a Day, an intensive, 12-hour marketing challenge designed to pair aspiring student talent with seasoned industry professionals to support Lowcountry non-profits. The main competition will take place on February 7, 2026, at the Beatty School of Business at the College of Charleston.

Campaign in a Day reimagines the traditional marketing competition by fostering a collaborative environment where students from across the Tri-County area work alongside experts from local marketing firms. Together, these teams will spend 12 hours developing comprehensive marketing deliverables—ranging from branding and social media strategies to promotional materials—tailored to the specific needs of local 501(c)(3) organizations.

“Our mission is to utilize our network of professionals to support as many non-profits as possible while strengthening the career paths of local students,” says the Charleston AMA Vice President of Collegiate Affairs, Jake Kozmor. “By having one non-profit per team, we ensure that every participating organization walks away with valuable assets they can implement immediately.”

Event Schedule & Location:

  • Kickoff Event: February 6, 2026 | 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Location TBD

  • Competition Day: February 7, 2026 | 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. | Beatty School of Business, 5 Liberty Street, Charleston, SC 29401

Call for Participants:

  • Non-Profits: Organizations serving Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties are invited to apply. Applicants must provide 501(c)(3) documentation and a clear description of the marketing deliverable they seek. The deadline to sign up is January 29.

  • Marketing Firms: Local agencies are encouraged to volunteer their expertise. Participating firms will have the opportunity to scout local talent, network with peers, and receive an in-kind donation acknowledgement for their time.

  • Students: Participants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the Tri-County area. Students will compete for prizes. The deadline to sign up is February 2.

Teams will be evaluated by members of another AMA chapter based on creativity, strategic insight, impact potential, and alignment with the non-profit’s mission.
