Charleston Balloon Company proves that there is a whole other world of balloons, beside the typical birthday or get-well balloon on string. “If you have been to any large event in Charleston where there were balloons, they probably came from us,” states Jill Shortreed, Certified Balloon Artist and Principle owner of Charleston Balloon Company.

Charleston Balloon Company is an independent family owned and operated business. Ms. Shortreed along with her husband Scott, also a Certified Balloon Artist, have expanded into a newly renovated building in West Ashley. Mr. Shortreed adds, “We are excited to expand Charleston Balloon Company and be part of the Qualatex Balloon Boutique Retailers Program. Customers can now come in and browse our wide selection of balloons, design books or get a free in-house consultation.”

Charleston Balloon Company designs and decorates all kind of event and parties using thousands of balloons every week. Customers are able to watch thru the viewing window as balloon arches and other creations are being built in the production area. “Kids and adults alike love to watch us inflate balloons, it is almost magical to them,” adds Ms. Shortreed. If it has to do with balloons, Charleston Balloon offers it, from helium services to personalized and custom imprinted balloons to single balloons on a string and Balloon Deliveries to hospitals and houses.
Besides running Charleston Balloon Company, Ms. Shortreed is also an industry instructor, she travels educating and speaking to other balloon and floral professionals. Her work has been featured internationally, she has won awards and been a contributor to industry books and publications.

A Grand Opening Celebration is scheduled for Monday, November 20th from 6pm to 8pm. Light refreshments will be served after a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Guest will have the opportunity to view the new shop, take a peek into the production workspace, ask questions and register to win a year worth of free balloons.
