Charleston Learning Center announces Women in STEM series
October 8, 2024Charleston Digital announced the expansion of its education offerings with the addition of a four-part Women in STEM series. The Women in STEM classes will begin on weekday evenings, starting October 30, 2024, at the Charleston Learning Center.
The series will be presented by Charleston Learning Center partner, Imee Cusion, a software engineering professional who successfully transitioned from nursing to the tech industry. The goal of the series is to illuminate a path to employment in the tech industry for working mothers and women re-entering the workforce.
“Having made the transition to a career in tech myself, I want women in our community to understand that a career in STEM is absolutely attainable,” said Cusion. “The curriculum that I have assembled for the four sessions is based on my own experiences and is designed to provide a practical path into STEM for anyone with attainable milestones along the way.”
“We are excited to be able to add the Women in STEM series at the Charleston Learning Center, yet another program made possible through our amazing host of public and private partners including Google, Comcast and the City of Charleston,” said Charleston Digital Director, Ernest Andrade.
