Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Announces New Position Appointments

CHARLESTON, SC – Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the recent hiring of two professionals, Abigail Showalter as Events Coordinator and Jeff Aysse as Business Development Executive.

abigailAbigail Showalter recently joined the Chamber as an Events Coordinator. Her responsibilities include coordinating Business on the Ocean Course Golf Tournament and the 2014 Honors Night Reception. In addition to managing two major events, Abigail assists with programs such as Executive Women’s Roundtable and various Charleston Young Professionals programs and events.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Abigail worked as a legal assistant and event coordinator for a law firm. She also spent ten years in Houston, Texas as an event planner for non-profits such as: The Houston Symphony, the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas.

Abigail Showalter is a graduate of Davidson College and also received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Music in Voice Pedagogy and Performance from Penn State. While originally from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania., Abigail now resides in Mt. Pleasant and enjoys running, singing, yoga and ballroom dancing in her spare time.

jeffJeff Aysse was recently hired by the Chamber as a Business Development Executive. Jeff’s responsibilities include developing relationships with existing and potential members and encouraging businesses to become active and involved with the Chamber. Jeff can frequently be seen greeting guests at many Chamber events, ensuring Chamber members receive a great event experience.

Prior to joining the Chamber team, Jeff worked for 34 years in the automotive retail business before taking time off in November 2012 to be a full time father. Jeff attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Jeff moved from Indiana to Charleston in 1985 and currently lives on Johns Island with his wife, Pat, and his 16-year old daughter, Emily. In his free time, Jeff loves to go boating as well as spending time gardening and cooking.
