Charleston’s HabitNu tapped by CMS for National Health Tech Ecosystem

August 11, 2025

Charleston Digital announced that HabitNu has been selected by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) as part of a select group of early adopters in its National Health Tech Ecosystem – a landmark federal initiative to modernize care for Medicare and Medicaid populations.

HabitNu will bring real-time behavior change and lifestyle support into CMS infrastructure, advancing CDC goals around diabetes and obesity prevention. The company with offices in Chicago, IL and the Charleston Tech Center in South Carolina, reinforces Charleston’s emergence as a driver of national health innovation and showcases the impact of its growing digital health community.

Led by CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, the National Health Tech project fosters a voluntary, standards-based ecosystem where electronic health records (EHRs), mobile apps, and connected tools seamlessly work together, reducing provider burden, enhancing care quality, and empowering patients to control their health data.
