Pho Viet is for lovers!
Chomp! is adventurous and likes exciting ethnic foods. It’s part of being adorable, really, and I find the more adorable one can be, the more adoration one receives.
This can take a variety of forms, of course. It can be a cute smile, a smart look, a playful batting of the eyes, a quick flash of a dimple or simply taking someone you love to Pho Viet. I don’t know how many of the above plays you are capable of pulling off, but I KNOW you can pull of the last one, so let’s talk about that, OK?
Chomp! took his lady to Pho Viet on Decker (2300 Decker Blvd., 699-5959). We started with the delicious spring rolls, which came with a nice Hoisin sauce and a creamy peanut sauce, which I think I could drink night and day until I weighed about 1,700 pounds and died.

Leesa ordered this, a chicken soup with noodles…
I ordered No. 67, which is a pork belly and beef noodle soup that is seriously spicy…perfect for a cool, cloudy day. It looks like this when you add the bean sprouts, fresh herbs and jalapeno on top. I also squirted some plum sauce and hot sauce in there, mostly for kicks – squirting is fun!!! – rather than it needing extra flavor, because it’s sensational as-is. Just check it out below…
Reeeee-diculous, right? I mentioned it was spicy. How does one cool down a tongue on fire? With Jelly Pearl Smoothies, of course! We had these, an avocado and taro smoothie:
