Christmas Came Early at the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office as Community Rallies for Christmas for Kids
December 17, 2025Monday morning felt a lot like Christmas came early at the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, as a steady stream of toy, clothing, and bicycle deliveries filled the building and served as a powerful reminder of the strength of the Laurens County community.
Throughout the morning, donations arrived from individuals, families, and organizations committed to making Christmas brighter for local children in need. Sheriff’s Office staff shared their sincere appreciation for the generosity shown by Laurens County EMS, American Legion Post 25, the Sherfields and friends, Pam Templeton and friends, Mr. Curlee, and the Cantrell/Crowder family along with their Hunt Club.
“The response from our community has been overwhelming in the best possible way,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. “Every delivery represents someone choosing to step up for a child they may never meet, and that kind of compassion is what makes this program so special year after year.”
The outpouring of support went far beyond filling boxes. Each delivery represented time, thought, and care invested in ensuring children across the county experience joy on Christmas morning.
Special recognition was also given to Tabitha and Michelle, who stepped up in a meaningful way to support local teenagers through the program. Older children are often the most difficult to shop for and, at times, the easiest to overlook. Their efforts ensured teens were not forgotten—a gesture that made a lasting impact.
With Tuesday marking the start of pickup, boxes are now leaving the community services building and heading into homes throughout the community. As each one goes out the door, staff hope the children opening those gifts on Christmas morning feel even more joy than those who had the privilege of shopping for them.
As this year’s Christmas for Kids season comes to a close, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office expressed pride in the work that went into making the program successful and deep gratitude for the many hands and hearts that made it possible—especially those who chose to sponsor a child.
“You didn’t just give gifts,” Snow added. “You gave hope, and that’s the best kind of Christmas there is.”
